Suggestions on Preventing Cracking When Using Duct Lock Former

1) The shape of the bite is improperly selected. If the large-section rectangular duct adopts a snap-type bite, the four corners of the duct are prone to cracking.

2) Due to the uneven force applied in all directions of the air duct during transportation, vibration and installation, it is easy to crack the snap bite.

3) When the size of the rectangular duct is more than 1500mm, the corner bite or the joint corner bite should be used. Try not to use the snap-on bite.

4) If the snap lock is cracked, use same material of the duct to make a 50mm X 50mm, 90° angle, and fix it with a rivet of φ3-φ4 to repair the crack of the duct bite. The length of the hug should be greater than the length of the duct cracking of about 100mm (shown below).

Preventing breakage at the bite of a rectangular wind-gap is the most important precautionary measure. The industry is also constantly trying and enriching its content.
